Nope, you were right. I was pasting from Wordpad, not Notepad. Now that I have redone my posts, the sidebar is back and no more errors. Thank you very much for your help.

you are right, whooami, I spent half the night trying different templates to no avail and even downloaded FireFox. This validator looks useful, although the number of errors is intimidating. Thanks for the help.
I can´t see the code in my posts, I thought I had fixed it all. Originally I was pasting from Word, but I switched to Notepad which isn´t supposed to give those errors.

Yes, I´ve tried on three different computers and it doesn´t appear! Any thoughts on why I can´t see it?
