I would also like to accomplish this… Unfortunately, having scoured the “Navbar Guide” the answer wasn’t there.
Anyone have ideas on how to remove the menu from the navbar box, and then re-insert it centered in the grey bar?
It appears that the grey bar in question is still a part of the header.

Are you trying to do an image slideshow, or have different blog posts display?
Maybe take a look at the template files that drive the “Full Screen” page template. That template gives a fixed, bottom of window nav menu that I -think- is what you’re looking for.
I’d create a custom child theme template using the basic layout that you want, and then copy/paste the code that drives the bottom menu into that new template file.
