I solved this issue using a “trick”. I have replaced #_EDITEVENTLINK with:

<a href="http://PAGE.DOMAIN/wp-admin/post.php?post=#_EVENTPOSTID&action=edit">edit event link</a>

I don’t know how placeholders work, but maybe you can try to consider this case (anonymous submission) to proceed differently that if the user is registered. If it isn’ possible, I think that this topic can be closed 🙂
