@ Jeremy The below errors in the XML-RPC were detected by Green Geeks. They asked me if I wanted to “disable the following rule of ModSecurity 900161”

I tried to communicate with them to resolve it but no one there seems to understand the issue. They just want to blame WordPress and tell me to look for help there.I never heard back from the Jetpack folks either, even though I submitted a bug report.
To Jetpack folks:
Don’t you have a list of server requirements for this interface to work?
I would think that you could just give a list of the files that need to be set at so-and-so permissions, etc. Can’t you at least help this much?I haven’t had the time to pursue this issue lately but it’s still on my radar.
@dalancarter Maybe you can have better luck with green geeks, I’m sure they’d want to know if their service is failing where other hosts succeed. If you do figure it out please reply to this post.

In reply to: Visual Editor issues when upgraded from 4.4.2 to 4.5.1I just spent a few hours looking around for good replacements for Headspace2.
I like Greg’s High Performance SEO https://wordpress.org/plugins/gregs-high-performance-seo/
also Add Meta Tags looks like a good replacement for headspace2 , though a little geeky in it’s assumption of tech language. https://wordpress.org/plugins/add-meta-tags/
There is also a converter which promises to convert your Headspace2 data to the other plugins (works with the two above mentioned plugins.) :
SEO Data Transporter: https://wordpress.org/plugins/seo-data-transporter/ I used this to convert a site with about 20 pages and as many posts that used Headspace2. Converted to Greg’s HP SEO and it seems like it worked.I don’t work for any of the above plugins, just though it might help the other folks finding who stumbled upon this post in their attempts to fi their headspace2-4.5 compatibility issue.

In reply to: [HeadSpace2 SEO] Problem with WP 4.5@jacob – the hero here.
His fix worked.
I lost half a day trying to figure out this before I realized it was the plugin. If would be great it some one forked this.
I’ve used Yoast and All-in One but they are too bulky, too many options. I like Headspace2 because it cuts to the chase and does the SEO essentials well.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Visual Editor issues when upgraded from 4.4.2 to 4.5.1After going through a long list of plugins I found the source of the problem.
the plugin Headspace2 (https://wordpress.org/plugins/headspace2/)
Which is no longer supported.
Deactivated and I no longer have the above mentioned issues.
I will re-post this on the plugin’s support page in the event that others using this are having the same problem.@jmobile
It seem that you are experiencing the opposite situation than I am, as described above.
I cannot connect to my site from WordPress.com where you cannot connect to WordPress.come from your site.
You might get better answers to you problem if you post it as a separate issue.
Hope this helps.Out of curiosity, I created a subdomain of one of the problem sites and installed a fresh install of WordPress (Softaculous) and added Jetpack and low and behold the same darn problem.
So it seems definitely a host server issue. The question is is it a security measure they have in place? or is it a default file permission thing they have set up?
If it is a file permission thing I’m wondering what files/directories I should look at?
Yes, to be clear the issue is on the WordPress.com end of things. ( I did post to their support, but haven’t heard back.)
If you re-read my initial post error where I say “The common symptom being the red circle exclamation point and the Message “Error fetching plugins. Disconnect Site””
Happens when I’m in the WordPress.com admin (For the record, in Calypso too.)I ran the debug link on the actual website in the Jetpack admin. It said that everything was fine.
“Jetpack Debugging Center
Testing your site’s compatibility with Jetpack…Your Jetpack setup looks a-okay!”
As I also mentioned in the original post that I suspect there is a sever setting set by the host (Green Geeks) that is not allowing WordPress.com to connect. Are there know server security settings that would block this?
I will fill in the support form on the plugin admin and hope for the best.
I’m determined to track this issue down and will report back here.
Also just updated to 4.5. No change in the issue.
Also just ran the Jetpack debug here: https://jetpack.com/support/debug/
Both sites said “Everything looks great!”
Thanks for this.
I inserted to code to the wp-config, and ran another attempt to connect Jetpack to WordPress.com, getting the same error I’ve always been getting.Unfortunately the debug.log file showed no new activity.
what next?
Thanks for the explanation. I’ve contacted my Host to look into the propagation issue, interested to hear what they have to say.
Never gotten that parking page which you sent a screenshot of.
I get the problem with photon all the time. The parking page you got is a red herring.
I appreciate your attempts to look into this but I’m just going to say good riddance to photon and move on from this issue. I only really brought this up incase it was an issue that other sites were dealing with, and we could have used this forum to resolve it.
Cheers.
Hi,
I’m not using any additional photo services. Nor have I done anything to the images other than simply upload them to the media library.
Here’s the list of the other plugins:
WP Embed Facebook
Akismet
CMS Commander
Custom Facebook Feed
Google Calendar Events
Jetpack
Lazyest Stylesheet
Sucuri Security
Unlimited Lists WidgetNone of these as far as I can see effect the images in any way.
thanks for getting back. As of this message Photon is re-activated.
