Yes, second domain was also an IDN. The only way to fix the issue was to DNS verify both domains. For some reason other verification methods didn’t work. Guess you have some IDN (full IDN, where the domain and the “.com” are in native language) related bug.

    Thanks for all the help!

    Hello Renee,

    Problem fixed!
It needed TXT DNS verification. All other methods of verification didn’t work.

Please look into why you can’t verify with other methods than DNS.

Thank you for all the help!

    Good day Renee,

I submitted some information via the form you suggested.

    Hi Renee,

In my WP setting the domain in in Punycode (https://xn--). WP is not fully compatible with IDN and will not allow domains in native language.
In site kit page the domain shows in Punycode, BUT without the “https”. Just the Punycode.

Please post your email. i could give you the URL address on the site kit setup Page.

The URL after clicking “add site” is diffrent.

Adding the HTML meta tag didn’t help.
Problem step 3. Clicking “Add site” just refreshes the web page. no errors or other messages. The site is being created or already in the Search console. For some reason your server doesn’t acknowledges verfication.
If all the setup was done from my server and WP admin, I would think that the problem might be from my end. But the setup is external on Google’s server.
Please check if it has something to do with my IDN domain. The conversion to Punnycode??
On search console my domain shows in it’s native language. On WP admin and search kit setup page the domain shows in its Punnycode.

Could it be that search console is sending the verified domain in its native language, and WP expects the Punnycode? I know WP doesn’t fully support IDN domains.

    I’m verified:

    HTML file
    HTML tag
    Google Analytics

    3 verification methods!!

Anymore idea what could be done?
    Thanks for the help!

Renee, is there an older version of the plugin that I could try and install?

    Thanks!

    Still having the issue.
    Steps taken:

    1) Deactivated all plugins (including wordfence). Only plugin active was SSL Zen.
Deactivating my SSL plugin would reset my certificates, which I wanted to avoid.

    2) login to Search Console and remove my domain from the previous install attempt.

    3) Reset Site kit

    4) Start Site kit setup.

Same issue. I have no idea if my SSL plugin is causing issues. Please install SSL Zen on a test server to check. What puzzles me is that the setup page is external of the WP environment. If all the steps are run on a Google server, what breaks the setup?
Whats happens after the domain is created?

By the way, my WP is running on nginx. Don’t think it matters…

Thanks for taking the time to fix the issue.

both values are at https:// When I check Search console, it created the domain with https://
My wordpress site is setup correctly and I don’t think there are issues form my end. The site kit creates the correct URL in search console, but fails to return the verification to finalize the setup. I deactivated firewall and several plugins, but will not mess with SSL and URL redirection to https etc.
(No problems installing and using MonsterInsights)

Attempted again setup. clicking “Add site” just refreshes the webpage.
When I hover over my domain name in the text on the Site kit setup, it shows the https:// url in the footer of my web browser.

Could it be an issue with IDN domains?

    Hello Renee,

    Thank you for the help!

WP will not save it as https://
After saving it as http:// it logs me out. When I login its still shows as https in my settings. I have no idea if its the server redirect to all http to https, or its my SSL setup. I don’t want to play with my SSL certificate. Been trying to fix the issue for hours. It should be simple. The domain is being created on the Search console.

    Any ideas?
Is there a way to give you access to my site/server?
    Thanks!

    Hello,
Out of curiosity I installed MonsterInsights. It was installed without any issues including Search Console.

    1) I deleted my site from search console (login directly).
    2) Reset site kit.
    3) started the configuration again. After sign in to Google, it acknowledged that i’m verified owner and can access google account data.
    4) Step 3 “add site” when clicked, it just reloads the welcome set up page. When I go to search console directly, i see the site was added.
My domain shows as the https:// wherever I see the domain name.

    Thanks!

    edo888,

How do I call the plugin to a specific language on webpage load?
Auto translate from English to Hebrew when site loads?

    Thanks!

Found the answer to my question. Had to edit $vertical_location

    Thanks for the help!

    Thank you for the help!
Will try the notranslate class. will contact you if I have any problems.

Another question. Right now my setup is: flags, top right.
When the site is viewed on a large screen the flags are not covering any elements on my top bar. Problem is when screen is small or viewed on mobile. My website is using a Responsive template. When on mobile the flags cover and go over the logo.

How could I just the top margin of the flags? Which CSS controls the top margin?

    Thanks!
