In reply to: [Quick Event Manager] Prev and Next button reloads entire pageThanks – I can recreate that on your site ( p.s. why have you no ssl? )
I will have a look and think – it will be related to your one page design.

In reply to: [Display Eventbrite Events] Keeps “breaking”OK on the demo system it also caches for 24 hours – so the first time you use a new API there is nothing to cache, so it will be slower as it has to read from Eventbrite – but will read everything – but thereafter the demo system will ‘remember’ what it has for 24hour so is faster.
WordPress.org rules do not allow me to support Pro features on this forum – so if you want more information, this conversation would have to be by email

In reply to: [Display Eventbrite Events] Keeps “breaking”Items are cached for 24 hours – so you wont see any new Events for 24 hours unless you do something to ‘break’ the cache.
There are two ways you can break the cache ( without upgrading to pro which has finer cache control)
1. disable and re-enable the plugin
2. adding an API key ( which you have discovered )Regarding the demo system if you added the API correctly under the API key feild it would give the account name and organisation ID. If you didn’t it would say under the field ‘Invalid key’ and show ‘nothing found’. I suspect you just had finger trouble with the demo system – I suggest you try again. If you really think the demo system isn’t working for you -use the contact form to contact me and we can continue via email.

In reply to: [Display Eventbrite Events] Keeps “breaking”Hi,
I’m probably not explaining it well and confusing the issue.
There is absolutely no reason to have to reset or reenter the API key except when a password at Eventbrite has been changed.
If you are in doubt whether your API key is invalid you can use this page and ‘use your own API key’ and it will tell you if it is valid or not https://fullworks.net/products/widget-for-eventbrite/eventbrite-shortcode-demo/

In reply to: [Display Eventbrite Events] Change Sort Order of Events on My Events pageHi Aan,
Thank you your using my free widget plugin.
In terms of the plugin ( I’m assuming you are using it on your ‘My Events Page’ as you haven’t given a link so I can’t check ) it lists the events in ascending start date order.
This is the best UX for the majority of users, let us imagine you have 3 events, one next month, one in three months and one in 6 months, then most user would like the next even i.e. the one next month, at the top of the list.
Obviously different users have different requirements, so the Pro version of the plugin has full control over sort sequence, allowing you to sort ascending or descending on start date and created date – in some industries having the newest added event at the top of the list is desirable.

In reply to: [Display Eventbrite Events] Keeps “breaking”I haven’t heard back from you. So I’ll assume it is simply caching as described.

In reply to: [Stop User Enumeration] Will not deactivateHi Cheryl,
Sorry to hear you are having issues.
The best thing is to examine your error log for any errors associated with deactivating, as whilst not specifically an issue with his plugin, there are many complex factors which may end up with an issue. Normally your control panel has access to an error log. Also you can read here. https://wordpress.org/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/
If there is an error logged specifically related to this plugin please post it here.
To ‘force’ a deactivation of a plugin, using a file manager navigate to wp-content/plugins and delete the folder ( in this case stop-user-enumeration ) . If you are unsure how to do this contact your host a or a WordPress developer.
Best regards,
Alan

In reply to: [Display Eventbrite Events] Keeps “breaking”Having re-read your post
“Often she doesn’t post anything for a bit, then there is nothing to fetch,”
Are you aware there is a 24hour cache, that is also dependent on wp-cron (which is dependent on visitors and therefore not exact )?
Updating a token will clear the cache.
This could be a case of
1. not waiting long enough
or
2. wp-cron not working correctly on your siteForum: Plugins
In reply to: [Display Eventbrite Events] Keeps “breaking”Unless you delete the plugin or in some other way update the options table then the token is persistent.
The most common cause of this issue is that the password has been changed, as Eventbrite regenerates tokens, and there is nothing I can do about that.
Out of thousands of installations of this plugin, including my own demo systems, this is the only instance of a reported issue with tokens that has not been password change related.
I’m not sure what else I can add.
