Hello,
As we answered it’s a default feature of the plugin from the very beginning. You can turn the Maintenance off in plugin option immediately after activation.
We are thankful for your suggestion but in nearest future we not plan to change it.

Did you solve this issue?
Such problems are not by reason of plugin. Probably page was cached. Please, find below our tutorial:

Or you can send request to your hosting provider to clear your server cache and disable Maintenance Mode, try to delete plugin via FTP.
