kwell, I won’t take all your time so thanks again
ps: ever since I started with multisite (so like a year ago I think) I never looked back, one update and all my sites are working
    that is so cool

multi language pain, yes indeed.. but I travel since I can remember anything, I had to deal with this multi language stuff, I’m ain’t good at any particular (french included) but try to get myself understood around

‘ …..something people on the Internet seem to miss about 3/4ths of the time’
dam true, I was fooled too, I guess that’s the hat, so Borsalino…

ah right, so if you do speak french, on peut continuer en Français.. eheheh..

I guess that for the sake of other’s forum members that could come accross the same trouble, it would be wiser to keep on ‘ol brit

so that is Andrea & hubby who did the plugin, she did help me (and you too) several time months ago.. so I will wait till they are back from well deserved quality time

Toda Raba again for your assistance

    @ipstenu

thank you for your answer… I’m also clue less, the most strange thing is that it works.. but still fire those error message
maybe I should contact Otto, what do you think?

what does that mean : “I barely muddle through French as it is”
English ain’t my mother thong and I have hard time to get it thru, specially if you refer to where I live

thank you again for yer time

    Thank you Ipstenu

I have loaded the version you linked and changed the 2 files

it looks like it solved the problem on the front end

but it looks like I have the same error on backend
although now only 1ans 2 are selected on dm_admin_page

I just notice that on the mapped domaine admin I have on

    http://mappeddomaine.com/wp-admin/tools.php?page=domainmapping

    Domain Mapping
Notice: Undefined index: path in /home/sites_web/steffy/mydomaine.com/public_html/wp-content/mu-plugins/domain_mapping.php on line 460

    Primary
Notice: Undefined index: path in /home/sites_web/steffy/mydomaine.com/public_html/wp-content/mu-plugins/domain_mapping.php on line 475

    any idea?

    thank you Ipstenu

Ideally I would love to keep the users and the post linked to them, the plugins, the media, to move the more smoothly possible

what are the rocks I might find on my way?

    G.

yes that is EXACTLY one of the purpose of multi-site, you install a domaine mapping plugin, you make sure the host deals with wild card, you follow otto’s tutorial and you are set

as many sites as you want, only one install and one instance of plugins to update

THAT is the very magic of multisite

    NessduFrat

it is VERY easy to go with multisite.. very smooth and a time saver for updates..

thank you for the denk link, it gave me some ideas, I guess I will implement the dual blog for a friend’s project.. but I will go the CPT route since I have no subdomaine needs..

Thank you Ipstenu.. I will go for CPT for videos too.. and for photogallery too I think.. but I was just making sure that it was wise to use for them for a ‘faux’ blog one , blog 2
thank you again for your assistance

    Ipstenu

the http://www.denk-licht.de gave me an idea for a friend of has 2 blogs on the same site.. so far it is 2 main cats with sub cats, but will totally revamp the site

was thinking of doing it with 2 differents custom post type and then dedicated taxonomies and dedicated custom fields on each ‘blog’ part

then I will have a list page with 2 different wp query to list each blog posts side by side

    what do you think?

any idea if I will face trouble for the pagination part?

like when I want to be on page 2 of the twin listings?

    Thank you for your expertise

Thank you for the answer Ipstenu, as of now I will make those changes from the daughter site admin thank

Thank you to better me on my practise, I’m there for this

Thank you Andrea, came accross the very same problem, and you were my savior

    thank you again

    ok Cristal clear Ipstenu

may I ask them why this field (permalink structure) is an editable field on the network area? if it should not be changed from there, why not a non editable field, so that sup admin can see the info right from his admin panel but can’t mess with it (such like I did)

is there other fields in this network area, that are editable but MUST NOT be modified from there but rather on the daughter site

Thank you in advance, this will help me to screw less things

I have solve it by moving to a live site online, will later try to move it back to localhost but it looks like it is an apache problem
thank you for your times Andrea and Ipstenu

I guess you mean the on the mother (site-settings.php?id=2)

I’mp pretty sure I do, I have the message ‘Site options updated’ on top of page after pressed ‘save changes’

    I have done a re-test

and it has the same problem

    if I change from site-settings.php?id=2 to /%category%/%postname%/ (I know I must not, just for test) I get a 404

if I change from from options-permalink.php and have the message ‘Permalink structure updated.’
    then it works

so it looks like on the mother it doesn’t actually flush the rewrite settings when I change from site-settings.php?id=2

is that a normal behaviour, or is there a ‘problem’ in my install? if a problem, how can I investigate and solve it?

    Thank you in advance
