Is there anyway I can just close the account?

Many thanks for your help.

Perhaps from this I shall wait for tomorrow, then should I consider
1. Re-installing WP?
2. I’m not quite sure what you mean in terms of ‘is it in the root directory’?

I can contact the hosting company and ask them whether they have a file in the root index?
