In reply to: WP-Polls WidgetThanks for your response. I checked and I have wp-polls 2.50, the most recent one where the plug-in and widget are merged. I will get in touch with the theme author and see if he has any other ideas. Thanks again.

In reply to: WP-Polls WidgetI have been in touch with the creator of my theme and he asked to check with you if there is any kind of hook that inserts the poll code automatically in the sidebar, without the widget being live. What’s happening is as soon as I activate the poll it puts in that copy reading “•Polls. Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment. Polls Archive” automatically. Is there a way to stop this from happening in the code?

In reply to: WP-Polls WidgetI tried it with the default theme and the polls seem to be working fine. I will get in touch with the creator of my theme and let you know if any other questions arise.
Thanks so much.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: WP-Polls WidgetOne more thing. I tried deleting and re-installing the plugin a few more times just to make sure and ran into another issue. When I install the plugin using the dashboard in wp, rather than putting the files on the server myself, a warning pops up that says “The plugin does not have a valid header” when I try to activate after the install. Do you know why this would be? Or if this is part of the problem affecting the layout?

In reply to: WP-Polls WidgetThanks for your response. I have tried doing what you mentioned above, uninstalling and re-installing, but am still having the same problem. On the plugin website it under ‘Usage’ it says:
1. Go to ‘WP-Admin -> Appearance -> Widgets’.
2. You can add the Polls Widget by clicking on the ‘Add’ link besides it.
3. After adding, you can configure the Polls Widget by clicking on the ‘Edit’ link besides it.
4. Click ‘Save Changes’.I have tried doing this but with the newest version of wordpress the adding of widgets is a drag and drop thing rather than ‘Add’-ing widgets feature.
I think the problem is arising because as soon as I activate the plugin it adds a poll to the sidebar. That’s the “•Polls. Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment. Polls Archive” stuff that is showing up. Then when I add the widget, which looks great, the plugin stuff is still visible. Any other ideas would be great. I really want to incorporate polls as a widget on my site.

In reply to: WP-Polls WidgetI am also running into a problem where the default blog isn’t registering the poll, but the widget it. Help!

In reply to: WP-Polls WidgetI am running into the same problem, but am using WordPress Version 2.9.1 and the most recent poll plug-in. When I install the poll plug-in the poll shows up in the sidebar by default, but the formatting is incorrect. When I add the poll widget to the sidebar, the formatting is correct, but the original plug-in is still there! Here’s a link to the site, so you can see what I’m talking about: http://www.faucethead.com/blog/. I don’t want two polls displayed on the sidebar. I just want the widget to be shown since the formatting is consistent. Any help asap would be great!
Thanks in advance!
