You could use the Custom Fields to add basic text info when you add or edit an entry. For more complex stuff… Connections does have a very robust custom fields and metabox API for developers.

I suspect this is question relates to the Form extension…
Support for the templates and extensions should be asked in my support forum as providing support for commercial items is not permitted on the wp.org support forums.

Yes, these expire. If you are using a page caching plugin, exclude the URL with Form on it.
If you leave the page open in the browser for more than a day without submitting the form the nonce will expire and void the submission.
