I just answered my own question and was able to access the database through the phpmanager on my Web host’s site. I believe, since I was able to do so and move around within the database, that it may be intact after all.

So, I’m going to see if I can find the best way to back it up and then go from there….but where do I go from there? <g>

I’ve created a couple of duplicate “WordPress” folders on my site so I could experiment with them to try to troubleshoot the problem and have come to the conclusion that the most likely cause of the problem is that my database has become corrupted.

Is there any way to confirm that? And, more importantly, since I was on my way to doing my first database backup when it happened, is there any way to recover it?

If there’s a way for me to attach it, I could send you a copy of my index.php page. (I think that’s the landing page, isn’t it? Maybe that would help. I can send you any of the files you need to look at because I do have ftp access to the site.

    Douglas,
Thanks for your response. You can try it yourself:

You should get the same blank page I do (and it says “blank” at the bottom.

Thanks for your help. I’m pretty frantic! 🙂
