Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: Opening Link in a New Tab Should NOT be an “Advanced” FeatureHi, it seems we all have the same problem. Since the new update was released it has become practically impossible to add a new link, as adding nofollow and opening in a new tab is practically essential! Every time I have to add a link I want to cry. However, I found that users and developers are discussing this thing on the official forum, even though there seems to be no chance of getting it back to how it was before, which worked great. It seems that they really want to make it more complicated.
Perhaps it is better if any of us can bring their own contribution, feedback or experience by directly contributing to the project, since wordpress is based on voluntary contributions and the feedback of each of us is essential, for example here:

https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/50891Hi, I’m having the same problem. They seem to be cleaning up and making it harder to use common options, like nofollow. It’s really a nightmare now to post a new link. You can follow the open discussion on the official forum topic on GitHub and maybe contribute feedback:

In reply to: NoFollow link is not showing in New WordPressHi, I’m having the same problem, and it’s coming out that maybe it’s due to the recent wordpress update. They seem to be cleaning up and making it harder to use common options, like nofollow. Therefore it now requires more clicks and is somewhat hidden. Even the post preview has become less intuitive, as well as the word count and other really useful things. I don’t know why. But there seems to be an open discussion on the topic on their official forum:

In reply to: WordPress 6.3: link management is a nightmareI’m having the same problem too, before it was easy to add open in new tab and nofollow to links, now it’s a nightmare. It doesn’t look like the problem has been fixed and there doesn’t seem to be any intention to fix it, but to maintain this thing that requires extra effort is somewhat absurd.
It seems that there is already a discussion about it on the official forum on GitHub:
https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/pull/52799
https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/50891
so, anyone who wants can contribute their feedback. Many users are pointing out the problem, but it seems that the developers are reluctant to listen.
