I have had a look and I do not have anything that has any option for visibility?? strange!
Yes the database was dropped, I dropped the wrong one unfortunately, but for some strange reason, the blogroll widget will not show on the site even though the widget is activated.
When i try and add the links again via the Manage>Links they wont register/save.

Its OK I was doing it wrong!! I have now fixed it!

I can only find RSS widgets for the sidebars.
I wanted the news feed to display on the main page instead of posts/comments.
