In reply to: Editing the Themes of Individual Sites in a NetworkThis is my work around (is there a problem with doing it this way?):
I downloaded the individual theme I wanted and then uploaded it to (Themes) on the main site (through FTP), bypassing the automatic theme install on the wp dashboard.
To add the same theme (with independently editable CSS) to individual sites I renamed the theme folder and uploaded it again.
Now when i go to “Themes” I have what looks like the same theme multiple times but if you look at where the files for that theme are stored (bottom right of theme scrnshot), you can see that they are in different folders, leaving it up to you to then go and activate the correct theme for your individual site.
Is this an appropriate solution?

I’m lovin the highslide (integration) plugin!
Is it possible to reproduce the hseffect for a video?
…as in: link on a page, highslide opens up to the video, just like an image? Or is that for the full version? Thanks for the plugin, and thanks in advance for any help!

In reply to: NextGen-Gallery and other Javascript-Plugins seem to interferrerHello,
Well it’s been 8 months now, but did you ever figure the highslide problem? I get the same thing…you click on the thumb and it just says “loading” without doing anything!
Thanks a bunch…and nice presentation on your site btw.

In reply to: Problems installing pluginsGODaddy:
you can change your hosting from windows to linux…but it’ll take 1-72 hours for it to take effect.
So now I wait, cross my fingers, and hope it all works out.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Problems installing pluginsmany hours later…
It seems that the problems we’re dealing with have to do with uploading the plugin and setting the file permissions for the files…
Problem is you can only change file permissions (on an FTP client such as Filezilla) when using a Unix/Linux server,
not while operating on a windows server. (I also host with go daddy and must have opted for Windows).Check this quote from interspire:
Please note: This permissions tutorial applies to UNIX/Linux-based servers only and although Windows does have a permission system, it’s different and cannot be set by anyone using an FTP client.
Talk about learning the hard way!
I haven’t looked into my options with godaddy yet but I imagine this is going to be a small headache!
Hope this helps,
