Unfortunately we are unable to support version 1, as we have ported all the widgets to UIKit in version 2. Be aware that all version 2 widgets are incompatible with version 1 as such if you do choose to upgrade your site may break some functionality.
To customize the behavior of the typewrite is handled inside the actual widget.

The widgets need to be enabled under Plugins > SiteOrigin Widgets and the Echelon Layout post type should be enabled for page builder in Settings > Page Builder (Post Types).

Please update to the latest version (Admin > Dashboard > Updates) for the fix.
