I have the trackback and ping backs enabled in both locations:

I don’t have any security plugins that I know of. Just the basic ones (Yoast, social sharing, instagram feed, google analytics, easy recipe…)

I don’t think so. I contacted my hosting company today and they didn’t see any issues. I could try back and ask about that file though.
Is there anything else that could cause it?
