All I want to do is allocate the new child stylesheet to the home page only (theres not many attributes) and include the sidebar so its consistent with the rest of the site.
I can do code but this is well confusing.

Thanks for this that is a big help. I have followed the instructions and now have a child template in place.
But (and I ask because it isn’t blatantly obvious), how do I allocate the child stylesheet to the home page? Please advise.
Actually scrub that. I have created the tranparent image and it works.
Although listing background color in the attributes completely defeats the object.

However, I don’t have a transparent image as such. I would just like to be able to have the semi-transparent background color and reset the text to being normal opacity.
I hope this is possible.
Where do you add this code? I have tried to add to the body and I still get this issue.
