Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Password Protected Pages Won't LoadI’ve found that, on my Mac, the issue was occurring on Firefox and Safari browsers, but on Chrome it worked as it should. Dug a little deeper and cleared any cookies stored from the site I’m working on in Firefox and Safari. That worked for Firefox, but the problem still occurred in Safari. When I logged in to my site’s back end using Firefox and visited the page, I was greeted by the password prompt again which was weird because I had already entered it when not logged in to the back end. I entered the password and the problem returned.

I have found this issue only in Firefox. After hiding the WP back end, I was able to log out once. After logging in a second time, the problem occurred and I was re-directed to wp-admin dashboard, caught in a no-way-out situation. Only after clearing Firefox’s cache was I able to log out from WP. Hide WP Back End seems to work fine on Chrome, Opera, and IE. I should say also that I tested this using a bare bones installation of Firefox (no extensions) and the problem still occurred.
