I didn’t really kept looking for it, but it seems there are some batch-scripts available to do this.
Haven’t tried it though, not even through plugins.

Thanks for the feedback.
I was trying to upload unzipped files through ftp or a zipped files through the wordpress upload-plugin feature.
But I think I have found the cause of this problem: too low php memory available. The website is hosted at one.com and they don’t offer too much memory. In the mean time, I have uploaded succesfully a new plugin but I took some time to get it visible in the plugin page of my wordpress.
I will see if I can switch from one.com to bluehost.com to get things running more smoothly. Thanks anyway for the time and effort you guys put into this.
