Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Feedburner, RSS, and multiple authorsI also have burned my feed using Feedburner, and the author names do not show up in the feed.
What can we do to remedy this?

In reply to: Podpress xspf Widget showing nothing.Thanks-
I suspected that feedburner was the case, if that is in fact true.
I can’t however undo that, as Feedburner is awesome and far outweighs the benefit of having a player on my site.
Can you think of any other ideas that might make this work?

In reply to: Podpress xspf Widget showing nothing. Here’s the link to my site. You can see the Widget has nothing in it. The width should not be a big deal.
I burned my podcast feed using Feedburner, so my feed gets routed to feedburner.
See?
http://edreach.us/?feed=playlist.xspfI don’t know if there is a way to make an xspf out of a feedburner feed.

In reply to: Mu-plugins folder name necessary?@ipstenu The Editor Role doesn’t allow theme changes.
@andrea_r : I do use that one! And it does work across network. Thanks.
However- If I limit the Admin role for students, it would also inadvertently limit the Admin role for the teachers, and they need to have control over their student’s blogs.
The only other option would be to make all of the teachers Super Admins.
Really- there’s got to be a way to hack the php to change the Editor user to edit_themes or change_themes across the network.
Any ideas? Thanks, BTW for helping!

I just want them to be able to Choose their theme, but we don’t want them to have Admin controls.
Heck I’d be okay if they were just Contributors, but still able to change and choose the theme on their blog. Some of these kids are like 4th, 3rd grade and the Admin controls just give them way too much control.

In reply to: Mu-plugins folder name necessary? Most all of our plugins are Network Activated. The biggest issue I’m having is with Changing Roles.
I’m using USer Role Editor : http://www.shinephp.com/user-role-editor-wordpress-plugin/
The biggest thing we need to do is to allow Editors to change their themes. We want students to be able have some capabilities but limit some things as well.

But we are rolling out something like 800 blogs for out students at our school, and I can’t imagine going to each and every one of their sites to activate a plugin.
Surely there is another way?

In reply to: Changing User Roles and Capabilities on MSOkay-
I can change their roles- no problem, but with these plug-ins the role changes don’t effect their own blog dashboard, only the root blog’s dashboard.
Let me give it a try and see if that works.

In reply to: Removing Bullet color from themeThank you so much. I was under the impression that it was an image file, but I needed experts like you to tell me the direct link to the file. That’s what I needed!
Thanks so much, WP community!

In reply to: Display all the categories in a pageIsn’t there just a line of code that will reference a Category or tag and display the posts from those cats or IDs? Either in list form or full. I don’t care which.
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Display all the categories in a pageMy theme came with a template Called Featured Posts. It makes sense that I could just use this, but I don’t really know what to do with it. Didn’t come with any instructions.
I could just modify this template with the Posts per Page code, but again, when I create a new page and use this template, I’m not really sure what to do next.

In reply to: Display all the categories in a pageI’ll remember that, however I knew you would answer my Q promptly. 🙂
Since I’m new to wordpress, I’ll ask another question:Sorry, I’m a little new to this.
I’m in my WordPress Dashboard, and I don’t see a function for creating a Page Template. Do I just create a new PAge and dump this into the HTML tab?
Maybe there’s a place on the WordPress help that takes a user through this Step by Step.
