So, I was tinkering around the customizer and found the solution. Just go to site identity and uncheck all boxes (the show the title and tagline boxes), and then save and exit the customizer to refresh the page. The title and tagline will be gone. Then, go back to customizer and check all the boxes back. It will put the title and taglines to their right places.
