Maybe as from today 25th May, this American company may think again as it will be breaking the European Union “General Data Protection Regulation” The fines for non-compliance are considerable, running into $ millions.
We have the right to have all data collection code removed, from this or any other Plugin.

Maybe WordPress could insist that any Plugin on the WordPress, site must delete their tables whenever a Plugin is deleted. That would be a start.
Over the years this will just get a bigger problem if not resolved.

DrachsiAfter nearly a week, no comment from the Sharethis in their Forum. They have also stopped replying to my emails.
I am a little surprised nobody from the WordPress team has joined the conversation?
Please could you explain what you did, step by step.

DrachsiI posted on the Plugin’s Forum, no reply. I also contacted them direct, still no solution.
On checking, all my pages the tracking code is on every page.
1. Is this legal?
2. Can WordPress look into this practice?
3. Is this breaking Data Protection Laws?
4. What else can I do apart from spreading the word about this Plugin?Regards

I have no idea where to find them or how to delete them. I can FTP into my site ok.

I tried the Plugin for a few months, then deactivated it and then deleted it, normally. Looked in Plugin folder with FTP and it has gone.
GTMetrix reports a file which When I click on shows
“message “mapping_found”
status “success”

Deleted everything and started again. Just 1 site to start
Now I have it working.
Question, my live site uses https, can I have this on my local server?
