In reply to: Plugin Update – WP Deader Than DirtOK – Progress…still some issues tho.
By leaving the plugin folder named “.hold”, every thing seems to work fine, only the “plugins” show up all outlined in red and stating, The plugin backupwordpress/backupwordpress.php has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist.
As soon as I name this folder back to just “plugins” things break as described below.
I am able to get to my Dashboard and the site itself seems to be functional, comma however that is only for the main page. When trying to click through to any secondary page, it goes nowhere but to a blank, white screen.
Within the Dashboard there are things amiss. I can access the main Dashboard screen, but like the site itself can not click through to any secondary screens. When I select any option I get the blank, white screen and “done” in the lwr left corner.
It is giving me the option to upgrade to 3.05 – should I try that?
Here is my theme and version info:
Theme Meganews Theme with 0 Widgets
You are using WordPress 3.0.3Any other thoughts??
ThanX!

In reply to: Plugin Update – WP Deader Than DirtThanks esmi – I tried the re-name of the folder with no success.
By that I mean, I re-named it and then tried accessing the website with no change noted.
I have no idea how I am to edit the /wp-login.php.
Thank you for your assistance.

In reply to: Plugin Update – WP Deader Than DirtIs there a way (if it will help) to go into my plug-ins folder on the host server and either over-right the plugins with older versions or just replace them with V 3.02 ones?
I’m not getting any responses and am getting antsy to try something! 🙂

In reply to: Plugin Update – WP Deader Than DirtAs an addendum to my original post.
I just noticed that my main WP in Fantastico is version 2.3.3 It is offering upgrade to Version 3.0.3.
Now I’m terrified of botching up my other WP installation.
Should I do the upgrade???

The second sub-page is not placed under the first, but to the right of it, in-line with it.

In reply to: Adding Pages Under “Parent” – How?Holy Crap – it works!!! You are awesome.
This was driving me so nuts because I migrated to this theme and lost this type of menu structure, but the search engines are holding all the url’s of the pages that are no longer displayed so I am having a lot of people and crawlers getting 404 errors as I am on a blitz campaign to attract visitors. This will help immensely.
Thank you so much my friend!

Here is the navigation code. Can you please help me with what to remove and replace? I obviously did something wrong.

In reply to: Adding Pages Under “Parent” – How?Cool – it seems that I should wait for that second code before proceeding and killing my present nav.

In reply to: Adding Pages Under “Parent” – How?Sure, but it will be awhile before I can get to it.
If you just go to the top of this page and hover your mouse over the “Blog” button, you’ll see it turn white.
When I do this on my site, I want the “sub-pages” to appear below the button being hovered over.
Thanks for all your help frosken!

In reply to: Adding Pages Under “Parent” – How?Well, duh on me for not knowing the lingo I guess.
What I want is in the top bar, I believe it is the “nav” bar is to have the sub pages drop down from the labeled button. In my example, you would hover over “Gardening” and the sub pages will appear below in a list. This is the traditional thing you see all the time on the web.
Sorry for the confusion. I definitely do not want the category drop box. I do see it now and I also see how placing it in the right sidebar has moused up my whole page, although I do kind of like the wide, xtra columns in the top half. The bottom half pretty much bites tho!

In reply to: Adding Pages Under “Parent” – How?OK, I’ve added the Widget and ticked the show categories.
I then published a “page” called “Deer Proofing” listing “Gardening” as it’s “Parent.”
“Deer Proofing” still shows up as a “Parent” in the menu bar alongside of “Gardening.” There is no drop down listed under Gardening either.
Am I doing things as I should?

In reply to: Adding Pages Under “Parent” – How?No, is that the name of it, or is there one particular one you might recommend?
Also, on my Theme, my categories appear in the main part of the page and “posts” nest underneath of them.
Pages are what appear in the nav bar up top and then open as new pages.
