Under the “Feed to Posts” heading, in the “per fetch” selection category, there is a drop-down box limit of 300 feeds per fetch.

I assumed this would be a limit to the number of RSS reeds which could be added to this plug-in…recent forum activity suggests otherwise.

Could the plug-in author, definitely, tell us if there are any known limitations to either the plug-in or WP as regards the mumber of allowable feeds….

And if there is no limit, then what about the “300” limit that can be fetched at any time…? Can that just be ignored?

    thanks

    thank you alan…

can you tell me what limitations WP might have that you are aware of?

    thanks

I have 80 categories in use with this plugin, and it is working perfectly.

I have it set up as 10 master categories, with 3 sub-categories in each master category….

…I ended up doing a restore pre-update. So I have no emergency. I am a Formidable Pro license holder. Display Widgets has been such a perfect and needed plugin for me, I would have paid for it as well….

I like your new Huddle thing, I am going to buy the Classified plugin from it….keep up the good work, you folks are top-shelf.

Your service has always been un-equaled.

thought I would be able to fix the problem….cannot. As it turns out the widget settings are still as they were, however they simply will not show up on my pages regardless of how I adjust the settings.

I am using theme called Exray, built on twitter bootstrap, which has been working perfectly….

stepan- really, trying to be friendly here, but your lackadaisical attitude is unprofessional. When we download a plug-in, we expect that we are not dealing with kids who did something one night then want to forget about it…if you are going to offer a plug-in, you must respect that we are trying to create something on our side and we are not doing things “for fun” but to build sites and to offer a credible user experience to our site visitors. You are talented and have a future ahead of you, however you must be serious about what you offer, and be prepared to support and continue development in a timely matter….or wait until you have the time to do it….thanks.

I think that I figured our the problem…I had activated a plug-in called relevasse (indexing plugin) for indexing the posts via the WP search widget. When I deleted that plugin, everything went back to normal.

….for what it is worth: I THOUGHT I had the same problem recently…as it turns out, the posts were not duplicated, but what WAS happening is the the browser (firefox) was doing an auto-refresh which was taken me back to the front of the posts, then I would see the “old” posts again as I clicked towards them….so it was a case of the browser moving me to the front of the line, not duplicate posts.

issue resolved, thank you Alan for all of your hard work. Not every day we WP newbies can get a BS/PhD/songwriter/ZenNinja to help us with things.

    Hello Alan-
Feel compelled to write this, at the risk of creating an unnecessary. Just wanted to let you know that I have done significant research on my auto-refresh issue. Apparently this is a firefox auto-refresh issue and it appears to have nothing to do with your plug-in.

That being said, I am searching for a way to disable auto-refresh for browsers reading my site. So far unsuccessful, but I will let you know it I discover a fix, i imagine this may be an issue for some of your other users as well.

I posted a review for you on November 7,2013.

I have about 20 feed being fetched, 3 at a time, with a 300-count feed set up.

The posts are on auto-delete, three day delete period. I have looked thru these posts and there are not duplicate posts.

I am using WPenging as a hosting company, I emailed them your article about changing the wp-config file. They did that, then they installed the WP plugin Simple Cron to do a two-minute update, over-riding the default 10-minite update. I am following your advice and have just disabled the plugin to see if it was causing the problem.

The feeds I am getting are the major news organizations.

If the problem does not persist, I will just give up on the two-minute goal for feeds and stick with the ten minute cron.

The problem, so far as I could tell, was that the update was creating a browser refresh automatically, taking the users screen to the newest post, but as the user continued to click “back” in time, the user, unknown to him, had actually been put “forward” in time by the browser. That is my guess. Trying to duplicate the behavior again.

    thanks for your trouble.

I agree, you are correct. definitely not a plug-in error. It is instead, i think, related to the cron update, refreshing the users screen everytime the cron fires.

So I know this is not your plug-in creating a problem for me, I was just thinking, since you seem to be the king of RSS, that you might have an idea of exactly why it is happening and what I can do to stop it.

    thanks
    sorry to bother you.

Thank you (both of you) for the advice. I use WPengine for hosting and as it turns out, they do automated daily backups. The backed up my site to the previous unmodified version within about 5 minutes. So that was great. However, that led me to research this a bit…the fact that exray is built on Twitter Bootstap is, apparently, what made the fix problematic- the files are in different places than they normally would be, and are not as accessible as they normally might be in a non-bootstrap environment…and by saying that, I say it as someone who is not familiar with boostrap, so to me, it was more of a firewall to getting to the code I needed. that being said, I have now investigated twitter bootstrap more carefully, read some tutorials, and am convinced it is a great choice for the developer to have used it, but it means I need to learn how it works to be able to go in and make some of the changes I was already capable of making in other themes. Great theme Septian, I love it, and I plan to use it permanently….keep up the good work.
