Again make sure to double check the directory permissons. As the only thing that

Unable to create directory /home/jaimep30/public_html/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/05. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

Would be caused by is incorrect permissons. (Its obvious, With the error of “Is the parent directory writable by the server?” With the new error, What were you doing before the error started to show up? What did you change?

    Please type correctly.

    Dont type a little bit

    then make a new line

    then keep typing

But i would try installing it your self (Downloading the .zip, Uploading it. Installing) and then try it to see fi that works.

Try this. I’ve done this before on 2.1.3 and it seemed to work just fine.

    Open phpmyadmin.
    Go to your WordPress Database.
Select “wp_users” (It could be what ever you specified in the installation of the DB prefix)
Select your username and select “Edit”
You’ll see a line of MD5 in the “user_pass” field. Delete it.
Enter the new password and from the dropdown box select “MD5” (You MUST do that or it wont work)
    Click save.
Now try to login with the password you typed in. -NOT the long bit of MD5 you see-

    All should be well.

No, The password in “wp-config” is your *database* password, Not the admin user password.

I host my site on GoDaddy. So far they’ve been great! 24/7 Tech Support (Here locally in the US, There Tech support offices are only a few blocks from my house here in Scottsdale) and the only downtime i’ve had was my fault with me messing with DNS Settings (So it doesn’t count that GoDaddy was down, As the server was still up) For a paid upgrade (1.99/month) You can get there pro-stats which has Bandwidth use – Sever uptime and Avrage server response time. (Mine has a avrage load time of 0.829 Seconds) What you could use for uptime is a site called “SiteUptime” they go to your URL and wait for a “OK” response from your server. Overall GoDaddy has had 11 downtime’s. But they were All caused by me There prices are very resonable (Starting from 3.99/month which comes with 5GB of Diskspace and 250GB of Bandwidth, Which for me is fine as i only run a small personal blog but prices go up to 10.49/month for 250GB of Diskspace and 2,000GB of Bandwidth or you can have deticated etc etc etc)

It would help if we had details

(What happended before this error started to show, Was it only happening after wordpress was upgraded? What directory is WordPress installed in?)

The error your getting is beacuse GoDaddy doesn’t allow the public listning of your “/” directory. Which usually means the server couldn’t find any files like “index.php” or “index.html” to display when the request to the server came. and the “Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.” is beacuse you haven’t specified a 404 Document page or the 404 page you specified does not exsist. Meaning it got a 404 when trying to get the 404 page. (That line is a bit confusing)

Yes that works on every WordPress install.

    As it said

    A) Download an FTP client
    B) Extract your theme.
    C) Upload to “wp-content/themes/”

(I’m not sure what you mean by “I cant find any folders”)

As i dont know which version of WordPress you are using it could be in two places.

If you are using WordPress 2.3

Then Sidebar widget’s come in the core package and are in your Presentation Menu. You will not need to download anything to use them. They come preactivated and ready to use. (You’ll find them in the “Widgets” sub-menu in the presentation area)

If you are using WordPress 2.1.3 or Below *Upgrade!* 😉

Then you’ll need to download the sidebar widgets plugin and install that in “/wp-content/plugins/” and then activate them. After that they will be in your presentation menu under “Sidebar widgets”

The alert that you got doesn’t seem to be from your website, It seems to be from the user’s anti virus telling him that there is a file on his system that infected. (I did try going to places where it would be hidden and just got a 404 meaning its not there)

As said, The way to reply to comments is by just posting a comment addressing the original commenter. On the part of the page looking un-neat you could use the “Paged Comments” plugin to break your comment area down to something like 15 comments before a new page starts. Pretty much i’m gussing those are your only options.

    Download/Summary link for “paged comments”
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/paged-comments/

It’s because Sidebar Widget’s are pre-activated and in the software core already. You just need to go to the “Widgets” tab in the presentation menu (It will be to the right of the Theme Editor tab)

I dont know. and dont think this is possible. You can set it up so they register an account like you said. Or the other way is to register an account that has permissions to post and put the username and password for the account on the home page for people to use. Although i think that you’ll have a hard time finding the part about marking spam.

Unfortunately, Unless you have a MySQL Backup (Which is usually .sql .txt or if you download it via WordPress’s export feature .xml) your posts are probably gone. As wordpress stores posts in the MySQL Database, and not in a file like a .html file.

Your only other option (like rudolf45) said would be to see if your host still has a Database backup.

    I would try this:

-Go to your dashboard (In your case: http://www.nancy.cc/wp-admin/)
    -Click “Manage”
-In the darker blue area click “Pages”
-Then choose edit on any one of them.
-After the page loads click “Publish”
–That should re-publish the page and might re-create the –page. As it looks to be that the page was lost during the –mysterious upgrade.

(The content of the page should still be there, If not then it means that something else happened)

“The sidebar shows an error” Please list the error.

“Is there a way to show how to get only the first 2 posts on the front page?”
Go to Dashboard> Options> Reading> Edit the “Show at most” field to 2

I’m not aware on how to force the image. It may not be possible.
