In reply to: header help -why are there two? Thanks! Oh – how can you tell if a theme is widget ready? I didn’t see anything about that when I chose the current theme. I found out afterwards.

In reply to: header help -why are there two?Try looking in your theme’s images folder (open every image and look at it if necessary) to find the header image to replace.
Excellent!
I don’t whether to laugh or cry – the new theme I installed is not Widget ready and looking at the instructions for (possibly) making it Widget ready, I’m not sure I’m up to it. I wanted it mainly so I could rearrange the sidebar list to be in a different order – I think I can do that just cutting and pasting the list items (code) in the order I want them. Right? (she says timidly after the last fiasco)

In reply to: header help -why are there two?Thank you all! I have a new, unmuddled theme up. Whew. I am trying so hard to pull this all together.
The easiest way to switch a header image is to just create a new image with the same name as your current header image and then upload it and replace the old image.
This has been my source of frustration. I just can’t find that stupid header img. I know it’s there, but I can’t find the right snippet. In the tutorials the code looks different. Once I added widgets it changed the basic layout of the code and all of my files now start with a whole bunch of widget info and the rest of the code seem highly abbreviated.
I’m trying though. 🙂Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: header help -why are there two?I would recommend that you redownload your theme and replace your malfunctioning theme with this fresh, unedited copy.
I like that! Thank you! I was just wondering if that was possible. How do I do that? Do I have to go to the Themes directory and select it or is there another method?
Thank you so much! I found the w3c tutorials on css and I’m starting those.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: header help -why are there two?Your header.php is either being included twice
How would this be? Where do I find this? Since I’m pasting in the original code – how can it be there twice? I’ve looked through the code and I don’t see it twice. This is so frustrating.

In reply to: Aaaaahhh! I’m two people, maybe threeI don’t know how I did it, but I’ve got it working now. I had to change so many things that I lost track somewhere along the way. I did reinstall – again as the first thing. Then I think I just went through and made sure that my username and pass were the same on everything I could find that was wp related.
