I can recommend the NextGEN Gallery as it gives you a lot of possibilities. You can insert all the images as thumbnails (example here), each of the images opening a lightbox. or you can insert an image with buttons to scroll on (example here).
With nextgen you can organize your images in galleries and add several galleries to one album. also you can easily create pages showing an album or a gallery. Adds a button to your editor to make things easier. I like it 🙂
