Turns out the incompatibilities were reported to the other plugin author when NextGen 2.0 came out. The plugin writer is still working on a version that will work with your plugin.

I found the problem. I am using the plugin NextGEN Gallery Optimizer by Mark Jeldi. This plugin does not appear to work with the current release of NextGen.

Ok I see the problem, and I do not understand how I could be the only person with this issue. There is a link generated for the image and the caption by NextGEN (in gallery.php lines 41-52). Since the caption has the same rel tag, it is being counted as one of the photos in the gallery.

Has anyone else encountered this problem, and if so is there a work around or a fix?
