I just figured it out …
Log into wordpress admin, hit editor under appearance
hit adsense-_sidebar.php,
then wipe all the codes there and save. make sure you save the code some where incase you want to re-instate adsense.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Now I’ve tried two methods you sent me,
1) changng the address in the database
both the addresses were correct
2) The first method, I added the two lines to “hardwire” the address
still no change
What else could I have done please. I was fiddling around with the settings when my site changed
