We are preregistering all of the members of the site. I have done that and I ended up using the Sidebar Login plugin which provides a simple login form that sits on the site of the page as they visit the site and now they can log in at any time.

I actually ended up trying the plugin: Sidebar Login and it seems to be redirecting me to a landing page upon login and I can specify a page to land on once they have logged out as well. So this seems to be working out pretty well.

What I am experiencing is that once the user logs in they are routed here: http://www.domain.com/wp-admin/profile.php
