@mihaiimagely thanks, but that’s not the issue.
Seems that the issue was/is related to another plugin (WP GPX Maps):
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/bug-exif_read_data-function-not-found/
I downgraded to the previous version of that plugin and that solved the issue.Hi, as the developers already fixed the issue, why hasn’t it been included in the 3.1.3 or 3.1.4 releases? Those are stable…
I’ve updated the plugin to V3.1.1 today. But still the issue remains.
Two weeks have passed since @edanzer his promise to look into this on priorirty. No fix just yet. What’s the roadmap / timeline for this? Thanks for your reaction @edanzer. I look forward to the solution. Glad to read it’s on the to-do list once all preperations are done for Gutenberg. Also very nice if that works nicely with NextGen. 🙂
@imagely, when are you going to help me (and others!) with this?
Hello Gaby,
My hosting provider supports ORDER BY RAND() in SQL. It’s also active.
Tested this myself in a SQL query:SELECT * FROM wp_options ORDER BY RAND() LIMIT 1;It returns a different value each time.
Well, the moderator removed my post from that topic. And stated that I need my own topic.
So please provide me with support either here or in the other topic and sort things out with the moderators. My issue is not yet resolved and anything I can do to assist to get it fixed, please let me know!Ok, than I will see if I can create an album page manually for the time being.
Can this option be submitted as a feature request? 😉
Hi Cais,
Thanks for your reply, that looks like something I can work with.
Will involve some work to quite a lot of albums/galleries, but in the end it will work as I want. One final question, how would this be applied to Albums containing several galleries?
I tried to look for ‘exclude’ there, but as far as I have been able to determine, is no option to excluded images there. Correct? Or is there an other nifty trick I can apply for this scenario?Arnoud.
Hi Cais,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I’ve verified the images ID and they actually exist. What I did notice, the following:
Images in the gallery that are marked as “Exclude ?” are not displayed in the gallery overview. (As expected & by design, no argument there).
Checking the “Exclude ?” box however also triggers the “no images were found” message within a post when using thethumb id=tag to include a single thumbnail of an image.I can reproduce this, even for newly uploaded images.
Until I upgraded from 1.91 to the latest NextGen Gallery, this was working perfectly.
Seems that there is either a bug or change in the coding that causes this behavior.
It’s reproducable for all my posts and pages where I’ve used 1 gallery to place all the images in and selected a few images to be Excluded to be displayed in the gallery.I hope that the support staff will look into to this and hopefully fix it. 🙂
Arnoud.
Can you perhaps indicate at what point in time (date/month/year) the
thumb id=was removed from NextGen gallery coding? Perhaps I can find something based on that date online on how to best proceed.Still… I find it very strange that the
thumb id=does actually still work, but not just in all cases…
If it was removed entirely from the sourcecode, it shouldn’t work at all anymore…Fair enough that something that is four years old can’t be supported anymore. But at some point the tag was depricated and removed.
What was the migration path for users at the time? Perhaps I can follow the same path. 🙂Hi,
I am a bit puzzled by your reply. If there where no thumb code. How come, some are displaying as expected and some are not.
I upgraded from v1.91 where it was still working, for all thumbs I created with that shortcode. If there where to be no more support, than it shouldn’t work for all, right?
Is there no backwards compatibility for the thumb id= code? Sounds strange and that would mean that I would have to replace there tags in over 400 pages. Cannot image that you would oblige users to do this…?
