Confirmed: The Position Yourself was absolutely the culprit for me. If you’ve got that plugin installed, deactivate it and you should be good to go.
If that doesn’t work, or if you don’t have that plugin installed, it might just be another plugin that is the problem.
Do either of you have the Position Yourself plugin activated?
I think that might be the problem. I went through and systematically deactivated my plugins and tested to see if one of the plugins was to blame.
I got the widgets to work after I deactivated the Position Yourself plugin.
I have the same issue. Tried changing themes thinking it might be something in (or not) the code that kept it from calling the widgets, but to no avail.
