    I would consider it but I am worried that they (fasthosts) are going to rip some serious dollar from me bank.

    i.e

    quote fasthosts;
    ” Payment options;
    Please select the payment type for your MS SQL 150MB database:

    Monthly You will be charged £15.00 + VAT per month for MSSQL 150MB database.
    Annually You will be charged £160.00 + VAT per annum for MSSQL 150MB database.

    Please note: If you exceed the limits on our database products then we will automatically charge you for the additional space you use”.

    I hate parting with money (I am a devout “scrooge”n)..

    ..I already run a blog @ http://sunderlandafc.blogspot.com but I thought it was time to venture into the world of setting up the stuff meself!
    Is there a place on this blue planet that offers “free hosted MySql”?

    fnar……I am on the windows (great, deep sigh) and the support is like Santa in July after a night on the Razz, the closest I got to finding out about there MySql is by getting to the end of a paragraph in the CP that said pay us some money and we will set one up for you, hence the question about can I install it myself or is this going to be difficult using the Windows platform?

    I have probably answered my own question there but can I install it for free and if so how and where?

    You are correct I have used the FTP stuff but I did state that I knew diddly about MySql thanks for the help so far but, how do I resolve this? Do I need to install MySql alongside the blog?

    By Podz you are quick…..

    …..the host is fasthosts and I have no idea about the database.
