ok,,,

so i tried something that seems to have worked!

by renaming hom.php to MYhome.php it seems to have fixed things

in this way i am setting a certain template for the home page, a certain other one for the Blog page, and then all of the rest are being controlled pages.php

probably not great solution, but hey,, its working!

***SOLVED***

i was trying to change individual permissions for root/folders/files using total commander & dreamweaver..

when i changed to filezilla i was able to change the permissions to my entire site(& to change them back again after thankfully)

not saying this is the most exact way of doing it. But!, it worked so that pretty much good enough for me
