Well to follow up my own post, it turned out that there was an incompatability with several of the wordpress plugins. FireStats was causing the crash because of an incompatability with the ‘Social Bookmarks’ plugin and the Google Sitemaps plugin, which was also causing eratic behvior including the inability to publish and delete posts.

I kept the Firestats activated and deactivated the Social Bookmarks and Google Sitmaps plugins.

Now, so far, it is working fine.

Thanks. That did it. Actually I had hand written 30 or so urls to ping. When I removed them it worked fast. I then added pingomatic and it still worked.
    Thanks again.
Should have asked sooner and saved myself days of headaches.
    All the Best,
    Brian

    thanks for the reply.
Yes that is the right program. Feeder makes it easy to publish news as it is also a news reader. So you can find an interesting article and publish it quickly. Is there a way to do this with Feeder and WP?

One technique that spammers use, it has affected our company, is to put an innocent domain name for their ‘sent from’ and ‘reply to’ email addresses. This effectively sends all their undeliverable mail and their rejected mail from their spam list to the servers of an innocent domain who then becomes the target of spam hate mail, gets wrongfully accused as the sender and gets their servers clogged with thousands of undeliverable emails.

ISPs and domain registrants apparently are avoiding this problem. It is difficult to get them to cancel an account. But currently this is the only thing we can think of to do.

Zapping them is not a problem getting them to stop is.
