In reply to: Automatically Pulling in Posts from LinkedInHi @bedas
Thanks for the reply.
I fear you may be right.
Yes I’ve also seen that it’s possible to embed a single LinkedIn post inside WordPress, but I can’t find anything about automatically pushing all LinkedIn posts to WordPress. I also had no luck with browsing through the LinkedIn Developer plugins.Another reason why I say I think you may be right, is because I have subsequently reached out to Taggbox to see if their tool would help me achieve this, and they have just replied to me now saying, “Since LinkedIn has made some changes to its API policies, integration of the LinkedIn feed is currently not possible. We cannnot automatically retrieve posts”.
But if anyone was able to beat the challenge and can share insight around a solution then that would be amazing! 🙂

In reply to: Adding a new local payment option – WooCommerceThanks @sukafia
Unfortunately they don’t have one which is why I was hoping to find another solution, especially since it should function very simple like the Direct Bank Transfer option.I suppose I could use the Cheques option and rename it, but I thought there might be a cleaner solution.

In reply to: Media Library Not Working 100% (grid view and adding to products)@shobhitaggarwal I’m sorry, I don’t know what else to suggest. As I mentioned, what worked for me is re-installing my theme files but it seems like you’ve already tried a different theme. I hope someone is able to assist.
Have you checked off all the potential solutions mentioned in this thread?

In reply to: Media Library Not Working 100% (grid view and adding to products)Hi @shobhitaggarwal,
Not sure how you would like me to elaborate, as mentioned in my last post above yours the I was only able to resolve it by restoring my theme files from a previous backup.
Have you tried all the suggestions in the link that CPC Mike shared already?
I am not 100% sure what caused the issue on my site. However a few weeks later I discovered that my site had been compromised via another infected site on the same shared server. I got the team from Wordfence to assist with doing a cleaning exercise on my website and since then I haven’t had the same issue. So I am not 100% sure but I suppose it could have been caused by modified files as a result of my site being compromised. We weren’t able to work out exactly when my site became compromised.
Anybody?

In reply to: [Theme: Galleria / Storefront] Centering The LogoHello,
Anyone out there with any ideas in this regard?
Hello,
Anyone out there with any suggestions in this regard?
And now after all that, all my footer files for all of my sites have JUST been updated with what appears as malicious code (eval code), like 15 minutes ago.
I’ve overwritten the files with backed up versions of the footer files, but there must be a vulnerability / backdoor somewhere. I may have to purchase the wordfence cleaning services to try help me find it.Anyways, nothing you can do about this, just thought I would mention it for interest sake.
sigh.
Thanks wfasa, I saw that last week but didn’t use it since I thought it was just hiding the symptoms and not removing the problem.
I will give it another read. Thanks again!
Thank you so much wfasa for all your help and generous feedback.
Thank you for also mentioning that the links probably don’t exist anymore. I have been pulling my hair out trying to find them and suspected that they may be gone now but was not sure.Hi wfasa,
I’ve added the script, it seems to have helped! I will have to wait a bit and see to be sure.
Thank you so very much for the help, I really appreciate it.
Hi wfasa,
Thanks very much for the generous feedback. In regards to your recap, it seems to cover everything except I am not entirely sure when and how these pages / links got on the site. It is the same site I always had and with the same hosting provider, it was just on a different hosting package (and therefore a different shared server). I moved from normal shared hosting to cloud share hosting. I can’t be sure if these pages were added already added before the move or only now recently when google detected it.
I still don’t quite understand how these pages / links exist. I’ve tried searching through the database for these url strings but also can’t find anything. But yes, essentially I need to get these types of links to return 404 instead.
The one contributor on the google forums posted that he also thinks the canonical tag is being produced by Yoast and I was tempted to disable it but I actually use this plugin quite a bit. So I was hoping to change a setting somehow but am having no luck.
In regards to making sure these links serve 404, I have had the most frustrating encounters with bluehost support today. You can read about it here if you like:
https://productforums.google.com/d/msg/webmasters/9un3IyPWu-4/d1nuIDwLCwAJ
Essentially they won’t update the htaccess file for me. They now suddenly say they don’t update this file for clients when they have done it for me many times before, sometimes even without asking me. The last time being last week.
I’ve tried doing it myself using a link the other google forum member provided but I am not having any luck. I think I am out of my technical depth.Thank you so much for the script though!! I think I will give this a try and see if it helps. I could perhaps create a child theme and then put it in that functions.php?
I am using a free theme and never created a child theme for it since this site is pretty basic and I didn’t make any customisations, but I have used a child theme on my other sites though.Sorry, just to confirm, when I mentioned site doctor above I meant SiteLock
Hi wfasa,
Sorry to post again in this thread since it is marked as resolved, but I have one more question for you regarding this topic.
Basically I am still struggling with this issue. I’ve been conversing on the google webmaster support forums and it seems as though the main issue with my site are canonical redirects. I was told to contact bluehost support and ask them to resolve the redirects and to set it so that any url which begins with a ? appended to the end of my domain url should return a 404 instead of a 200. The conversation thread is here:
https://productforums.google.com/forum/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=footer#!topic/webmasters/9un3IyPWu-4I’ve tried contacting bluehost support several times and they finally responded only to try and sell me sitedoctor. I don’t see the point in buying sitedoctor if my Wordfence scans are already turning up nothing.
So my question is, if I purchased the wordfence premium version do you think the scans would then help discover this particular issue and / or would the premium support service be able to assist with this my described issues?
I was also considering using the Wordfence cleaning service but it seems as though they are not taking on any more requests at the moment to an overwhelming demand.I do have an old backup I could restore but this still doesn’t really help me find the source of the issue and to change the settings to return 404s as mentioned above.
Thanks, I appreciate any advice you can give.
