If you mean: did I read about using RSS, the answer is yes, thanks. What I got was: you can do it with RSS but you’re going to get various problems, some of which can be solved if you persist and do some other stuff.

I really would like to get an answer to my question: is there a way to import the XML file that WordPress.com now so cheerfully produces?

If not, I guess I’ll go and do the RSS thing. It’s definitely not my preferred option.
