In reply to: alt text not in html codeAndrew, are those taken from my home page? If so, those ones do work. But if you then go to the portfolio page where the bulk of my images are, there is no alt text. Just taking one image as an example.

That is correct Martcol, I have taken this up with the themes support but yet to get a reply. When I first raised this question here I had not worked out that it was likely a theme related issue.

The alt text is there on the three images on the home page. But there is none for any of the images on my gallery.http://events.photographerinessex.com/
The theme is Tripos by Cosmothemes if that is of any use.

I just tried that, but my galleries are specific to my theme so once switched over to twentyfourteen there is nothing for me to check. I hadn’t realised that before, I guess it is a theme issue then?
