I’m having the same problem. It’s inexplicable to me. almost half of the 404 errors I get on my web server are from people clicking the misleading “Next Page” links on a permalink such as

• http://retroviral.net/blog/2005/02/28/
• where there are only a few posts, yet that “Next Page” link is still there.
