I am having trouble as well with this issue. I was able to write custom titles for 2 of my 4 pages on my blog…the other two will not overwrite. It just shows the Site Title. The Yoast SEO box looks like it works…but no new page title in the browser tab.

Thank you! The problem was I had checked a box under discussion settings a few weeks back that said one must be logged in to comment. I unchecked it and everything is back to normal…! Thank you for the assistance.
