I am also having the same problem. I have followed kafemarat’s instructions hoping for the best and…nothing.
Nevermind…I’ve uninstalled and installed an earlier version and things are working fine now. My servers support the requirements for the latest version of WordPress, but they don’t seem to like the new version too well evidently.
