I just tried again to log in as wp-admin, in order to get the error log, and… it went through!
It looks like switching to “personalizing” (not sure that is correct English) the theme brings back the connection form and the ensuing oddities, but the situation is obviously improving.
Thanks a lot for your help and your patience.
    All the best,
    Patrick

I’ve installed WP following the procedure of my Web host, that is ovh.com.
Nothing special as far as I know.
The strange thing is that connecting as admin worked fine until two days ago.
I’ve asked my Web host support about it. They say everything is OK for them with my blog and that I should turn to WordPress forums.

Well yes, thank you for asking.
Actually, I realized that I had made a mistake in the title of my topic (w”m”p)and I thought that might be one reason why nobody was answering.
Another reason might be that the problem was so trivial that I should solve it by myself.
But I’ve been unable to do so, and the trouble is still there.

Sorry, I had unederstood it was preferable not to create a new thread when there already is one dealing with the same problem.
But then I will post my own topic.

I might have the same problem. My log-in as “wp-admin” is refused the first time, then accepted after I clicked on “getting a new password” (without going through the process of creating one), but there are things I can’t do on the dashboard (such as pesonalizing the theme). I’m asked to log in again because “the session expired”, but loging in is refused.
