Also, do you have a backup from before the update? If so, you could restore back to that point and try the update again.

Based on the results, it looks like server response times may be the biggest factor in addition to some larger images.
You may want to check with your hosting company to see if they can get you better performance.

Also, if you think it is the SQL DB, you can try to repair the db in the clean instance. See link

I am assuming your website it quirkysciece.com based on your message. When I look at the robot.txt on the site , it has many instances of Disallow: /. This statement will prevent Googlebot from crawling URLs on the site. I believe the error message you posted is coming from an incorrectly worded robots.txt file. Please see this page for more information on robots.txt.

Did your WordPress installation recently get updated to a newer version? It may be that the Theme is not compatible with the newer version. I have seen issues with older versions of Visual Composer (by WPBakery) suddenly not working after the newer WordPress 4.5 version was applied until the VC was upgraded to the latest version.
