Text widget does not allow you entering php code, it will convert <?php ?> to special characters for showing as text. Same behavior with Tiny editor in post/page editing. So this is not a problem of our plugin.
Please use https://wordpress.org/plugins/php-code-widget/ for php code in text widget.
For example https://image.prntscr.com/image/psBIecV4QHqw94ppfR_wGg.png
