Hi
You have not understood the issue. I am wanting to embed the pdf into the lesson page using PDF Embedder Secure. I am not using the Tutor LMS attachment section in the lesson page. I do not wish to use this because Tutor LMS does not provide the ability to keep my pdf document secure (I wish to prevent printing and downloading – hence why I purchased PDF Embedder Secure).
Therefore please can you read my messages in this post string and try to understand exactly what I am wishing to do so that you can assist me?
Many thanks for your help.
Greg

In reply to: [PDF Embedder] PDF viewer not loading on lesson page is Tutor LMSOK thanks, I will have a go to see if they will help me. Is it worth your team behind PDF Embedder working with Tutor LMS, Learndash and the few really big LMS platforms so they support your plugin?
Thanks
Hi Munayam
Thanks for your message. Yes this is exactly how I have added the pdf files to my course. When selecting the pdf file from the media library then the PDF Embedder auto inserts the code required to embed the pdf viewer in the page. However, when a student selects the lesson to view it, the pdf viewer does not load. I think this is because the lesson navigation is being controlled by java script, and that script is not initialising the code to actually load the PDF Embedder / viewer.
Instead, there is only a link to the pdf document that displays (which does not work when clicked). However, if I refresh that page then it seems to force the PDF Embedder viewer to load onto the page?
So I think it is something really simple going on. If only Tutor LMS didn’t;t use this javascript – it would be far better if instead it refreshed the relevant lesson page contents when you click a lesson. We would not have that problem then!
I looked for the Tutor settings > course tab and in the version of Tutor LMS that I am using (V1.9.11) there is no option on that page for any kind of download option? I do not think I need that anyway because the PDF Embedder Secure that I have gives me full control over whether someone can download the pdf or not.
Do you have any ideas for how I can add any kind of code to make the lesson page properly refresh to ensure the PDF viewer loads correctly?
Thanks
Also, are you able to tell me what pdf embedded plugin you did test? Is there one that works on Tutor lms? Or are all your customers not able to use pdfs in their online courses? I want to use them, and for them to be protected from download and printing so my ip is protected from copying and circulating…
Thank you for your reply, but I would value it if you could point me to where I should place the line of code from the link I gave?
In Tutor lms, is the navigation and “loading” of lessons to the right hand side of the navigation controlled by java script, or by something called AJAX?
The problem I’m having seems to be simple enough – the pdf embedder just needs to be properly initiated when someone clicks to load a lesson where it is being used.
Please help me to find a solution to this rather than just say you didn’t check compatibility when you developed the plugin? I purchased the secure pdf embedded so I am a paid customer. I would have thought you would have checked compatibility with all pdf plugins since it would be a pretty common requirement to use them in online courses wouldn’t it?
Please can you add this to your development plans for Tutor, but also help me fix it. From the other post, they gave me the code to hopefully sort the issue – I just need you to read it and let me know where to put it? I know it would take you a little effort to read it and direct me, but I would be really grateful.
Thanks.

In reply to: [PDF Embedder] PDF viewer not loading on lesson page is Tutor LMSThank you for your reply!
How do I find out if the page is loaded with AJAX? And where exactly should I be placing code? In the Custom CSS box of the theme or something? Please, if you could explain that would help a lot.
Great – thank you so much!
Many thanks for the positive info – thats reassuring to know it works well. Can you confirm that woocommerce classifies each separate course as a ‘product’ so that I can have a coupon that is valid only for a particular course? Thanks.
