  • Actually, I found it…
Under the main dashboard, bottom left, under “Getting Started”
Click: “API Explore and enable APIs”
Then fourth option down, “OAuth consent screen”

That’s where you can change it from testing to production.

But then… when I went back to the orange button in wordpress saying “Allow plugin to send emails…” I got message about it being unverified (or something). But I got around that by going to advanced, and then “go to wpmailsmtp” anyway. That’s when I was able to hit the “allow” button.

Good heavens. It works now (I can get emails from my site). I really like WP Mail SMTP. Hopefully they can update their documentation for getting gmail to work soon, to account for the new ‘testing’ thing google has.

I’m having the same issue. The problem now, however, is that once I got past the point where it was asking about ‘testing’, I cannot get back to that area where I can change it to “published”. Under Activity in my dashboard, I can actually see where it says “Published State: Testing”, but I cannot change it. There isn’t a link or an obvious way to get back there again. Any thoughts?
