***issue solved by adding “search reloaded” plugin and having it search titles only!***

In reply to: WP search “function” totally jacked up – help!?Yes the search runs queries, but the results are terrible. I’ve illustrated this point in my original post, searching for something I know exists will bring up totally irrelevant results.
I have my search result excerpts truncated on purpose.
