In reply to: Trackback problem with 2.0.4I’m guessing the problem is with them. I can’t think of any other reason why your pings/trackbacks aren’t being sent.
Ask them and perhaps they can come up with a reason. Perhaps something is disabled via their server?

In reply to: Commenting NicknamesWell, yes, going in and removing the comment is the only way now, but rather, for a long term solution, I believe that you should have a file, you enter the names you don’t want visitors to use, then when a user tries to use one of those restricted names, it will either just take him to a page that says, “no you can’t with this name” or a pop-up or something. I remember Cutenews had this problem along time ago and the fixed it.
The way CN does it is that if the user tries to post under a restricted name, he has to be (1) either the real owner of that name or (2) the admin, in which turn the system will ask him/her for the password. If the password is correct, post goes thru, if not, they have to change their name. Get it?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Commenting NicknamesCorrect darkcryst. I mean, sure I can enter the names that I don’t want them to use into that box, but then what if someone is posting a comment and wants to use my name. Or what if I, the admin, want to post one of those names, ie: “yea, my name is chris” and I won’t be allowed to do it. I find this rather odd. You’d think there’d be a way to stop the impersonating of an admin via comments. Any ideas?
