Thanks for quick feedback I already searched the forum and found the tdo-mini-forms plugin. I am following up on it. However, I thought there may already be some hacks which I had not found. I was also wondering if one could just take say the code for the dashboard page for writing a post make it look like one wants and then put it in a page from where it could be called from the menu. I just wanted to avoid having subscribers creating posts via the dashboard. Thanks.
